Yeah Cooler Weather

Cooler fall weather has finally arrived in Kyle, TX time to break out the sweatshirts and find some socks. Busy times for us PVRR's Secret Agent Man and I will be enrolling in a six week conformation course so he can learn to make me look good :) Agent turned 13 months on October 20th and is the center of the Well's universe (as it should be) and keeps the other dogs annoyed which is the role he choose and excels in this area. Arrow will be 14 years old this year and going strong...a little stiff legged but doing well. Summer and Coco (aka Cole) have fun playing with Agent and Summer loves to give him her best growl. Agent's debut will be at the Houston show the first Sunday in November so ready or not here we come. Recently went for a quick visit to see family in California and had a wonderful time at my nephew Sean Harris' wedding in the lovely quaint town of Quincy, California (not sure the town will ever be the same once we all left) spent quality time with my mom and we both cried went I left...hate leaving! The wedding was stupendous the groom handsome and the bride Katie was beautiful in all their wedding finery....the party was over the top and I can say EVERYONE had a great time and was well fed with awesome food and CAKE.

Fall has arrived in Kyle, TX

After the long hot summer (nearly broke the record for consecutive days over 100 degrees by a few)it's nice to feel the cool briskness in the air. I was out walking the dogs this morning and actually needed a sweatshirt.....yeah! Life is Kyle is a wonderful change from our road warrior days in Cali...don't miss the 4 am wake up calls and the long 90 mile drive into work than to turn around and drive it back home. I do miss the emerald green hills and the closeness of family...but pretty much that's it. Our life is great and we are making new friends and maintaining old friendships that began almost 10 years ago over the phone...great to work with wonderful people who like you for who you are...Texas is awesome! It's BARRC specialty weekend in Pleasanton, CA this weekend and my wonderful friend/co-owner of my poops is showing two of my beautiful babies.....good luck!

Visit home to San Jose, CA

I arrived yesterday for my visit with Mamamia and it always makes me smile with how we pickup like I never moved to Texas. We are awesome friends and I thank God everyday for the wonderous relationship I share with my mother. We went to dinner with Stan and Lol to there favorite restaurant Cafe Artemis and finished off all the food that they placed in front of us in record time--WE ALL LOVE FOOD! and laughed over Stanley's borrowing my sister Cat's knome and rooster--he hiked Ohlone mountain with Willis R Knome in his backup pack and took photo's to send with a ransom message to Cat--he missed his calling he should have been a writer. I am looking forward to my brother and sisters and family visiting this weekend for my mother's 85th birthday on Monday, July 6th--Celebrating the life of a truly awesome woman. Miss my hubby, doggies and home--makes you love what you have in your corner of the world even more when you are away from it!

Happy Father's Day!

I was gifted with a wonderful father--he was the person who taught me how to make spaghetti sauce and we would dip with GG's homemade bread to taste :) and the man who taught me how to change a tire on my 71' VW just in case I needed to someday, and to never yell at my mother :) he was soft spoken and a man of few words but those words hit the mark everytime. I would have loved to have more time with him...but the time I did gave me wonderful memories that I carry with me daily--he is the little voice in my head that guides my way with the secondary voice being my Grandma's.
Lots of folks say that you marry the man most like you father and I would have to say that I was lucky too...my husband Garlan is a jack of all trades like my father (he can handle/figure out anything) and a wonderful man and father to his children and will make a awesome grandfather (thank you Jessica and Coy). When we lived with my mother for a few years I would say that Garlan and my mother shared one magnificent brain...they could figure out with there methodical brains the best approach/solution to fix a problem...I would love to have a brain like that!

Wide open spaces.............

The skies in our little corner of Texas are nothing short of spectacular here a few shots taken this afternoon of the cotton candy clouds floating by.........

Snakes, Snakes, and more Ssssssnakes!

Well life in Texas is never dull..just this last week we found 20 water moccasin's (aka cottonmouth's) -- and over the last month about 1/2 dozen rattler's one in our neighbor's garage. Snake's just give me the willies I saw a bumpter sticker coming home last week that said "Brake for Snake's" I think not! Maybe a trip to the Snake Farm in New Braunfels, TX would help me overcome this aversion this place was on the Discovery channel's "Dirty Jobs"

Life in Kyle after 6 months

Well now that we have been in Texas for over six monthes things are settling down a bit for us. We have great neighbors, great jobs with fun people to spend quality 9 hours days withm a much shorter commute :) and a wonderful small house on a plot of land that we can call home. When we arrived back on July 8, 2008 Garlan and I were up for the next adventures in our lives. Along with our buddies; Arrow, Ella and Toro Garlan now added a few months back his own clutch of chicks and we are awaiting anyday for eggs to start appearing.
